Menorca is the second largest Balearic Island, measuring approx 30 miles east to west and 12 miles north to south.
The island has a fascinating and diverse heritage with many prehistoric monuments.
Due to its strategic location in the Mediterranean, it has had a turbulent history. There are therefore many cultural and military artifacts to be seen.
The island was occupied by Britain from 1708 to 1756 and many British influences are still in evidence.
Today, Menorca is essentially a quiet island compared to Majorca and Ibiza. There are some busy and bustling resorts, but there are also pleasant quieter beaches to discover, even in midsummer
The island enjoys an average of 315 days sun each year with temperatures averaging 28 degrees in the summer, often tempered by sea breezes.
